At St. Eugene Cathedral Preschool we pride ourselves on our outstanding teacher qualifications.
Sharry Caesare (Director) with over 20 years of teaching and administrative experience Sharry holds a current Program Director Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. A former Validator for the National Association for the Education of Young Children (N.A.E.Y.C.) she is also an independent contractor for the Sonoma Office of Education in their Gateway to Quality Program helping to improve program quality in preschools throughout Sonoma County. Sharry also does independent contract work for the Community Child Care Council (4C’s) working as an assessor in their Value in Preschool Program. This program helps providers who are interested in improving center quality and eventually obtaining N.A.E.Y.C. accreditation.
Sharry is a graduate of San Jose State University. She and her husband are both parishioners of St. Eugene Cathedral Church as well as former preschool parents and former and current elementary school parents.
Caroline Elliott (Aide) is a parishioner and former preschool parent. She began volunteering at our preschool when her son was in the program and decided it was so fun that when he graduated to Kindergarten she stayed on with us!
Tess Mellor (Teacher) Tess is a graduate of Sonoma State University, who holds a BA in Child Development. She currently is enrolled at USF in their School of Education Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential and Master Degree program. Tess attended St. Eugene’s Preschool as a child herself.
Erin Fitchie (Teacher's Assistant) Erin is a graduate of Chico State University. She has many years of experience working with young children as a nanny. Erin is currently taking Child Development coursework at SRJC and is planning to continue her education working towards an elementary school teaching credential.
Jessica Foertsch (Teacher) Jessie is a graduate of Sonoma State University with a B.A. in Early Childhood Education. She has experience working with infant/toddler, preschool and school age children. Jessie's mother was a preschool teacher and she spent much time in her classroom growing up. Jessie always knew she wanted to be a preschool teacher.
Heidi Gammon (Aide) Heidi is a graduate of UC Santa Cruz, who fell in love working with preschool age children while volunteering at her son’s preschool. She is currently taking classes in Child Development at SRJC.
Birte Knight (Teacher/Substitute) Birte has over 30 years of working with children and is our substitute extraordinaire.
